Zinfindel Red Wine
Excellent red wine grape peculiar to California (although they have genetically linked this plant to those grown in Italy known as "Primitivo") - it makes lively and fruity wine for drinking when young. Sometimes a superior quality production of zinfandel can be aged for decades as a Bordeaux would be - and come out with many of the same qualities as a good Bordeaux! It likes a drier climate and gives its best qualities in cool areas such as northern Sonoma.
