Grenache Red Wine
A sweeter grape making strong wine with character but not much color, used in Chataeuneuf du Pape as well as Tavel, the best rose from Rhone. Grenache is the most planted grape varietal in Spain, grown under the name Garnacha, and used in dessert wines among other blends. Used for port, blending, and roses here in the U.S. as well as Australia, this grape is really starting to be accepted in New World blends.
